Newsflash: Welsh Terrier Walks on Water

Sometimes in life, we just accidentally come across something really quite special - today was one of those days. Taking Dylan for a walk along the cliff tops near my mam's in the North East we noticed what looked at first like a big patch of golden sand on the otherwise snowy beach. When we went down to the beach itself we found that it was a huge shallow ice lake which must have formed from water coming down the cliffs. Absolutely stunning. And Dylan got his first (and probably last) chance to ice-dance across this lovely frozen lake. As ever, the little pupster was up for exploring. Boy his paws must have been cold!

Can we go down the icy steps to the beach? Please please ....

Sun,sea,sand .... and snow!

We all went off to the beach this morning before our weekly walk to Richardson Road to visit our lovely local butcher, baker and candlestick-maker (can't have too many candlesticks). There hasn't been any more new snow but it's still FREEZING today with impacted snow making walking about treacherous ...unless you are like us and have monstrous looking croc wellies. Fashion isn't everything!

Anyway, look at Hove beach !

I've never seen it like this. Thick snow suddenly giving way to exposed bits of beach then the bright blue sea. Dylan loved it ! He was running between snow and sand and we've even captured him here with snow on his nose on a golden bit of beach. Surreal!
Dylan is now hunkered down with his bone from the butchers and I doubt we'll hear a peep out of him for the rest of the day. I wish!

Sun, Sea, Santas & Swans

Chapter 1: Sun, Sea and Santas
The sun came out briefly this morning making it a great day for the annual Santa Dash down at the seafront. What does a Welsh Terrier make of a load of humans running around in red suits and beards? He's probably wondering if their santa sacks are full of marrow bones and puppy treats.....

Here's Dylan watching the run....

Chapter 2: Sun, Sea and Swans
Having been bred to hunt badgers, amongst other things, Welsh Terriers are known for being hardy, courageous and bold. Here's what happened when Dylan met some swans this morning...

Stormy Weather

Constant storms mean that Hove suddenly Hove has a sandy beach. Dylan doesn't know what's going on but I think he likes it!
