Birthday Boy

PART 1
I'm 2 today!

The stoopid staff forgot my birthday so I've not got me new toy YET... but I managed to make them feel so guilty that they finally let me have the toy I got from Mrs Caroline for Xmas.

Woooof - arr...it aint going to last long in my gnashers!

Gotcha - I knew I'd have that furry fellow caught in the end. No-one get's past Super-Dylan in the end...not even Santa Square Dog !

Part 2:

I did it - I stared at the staff so balefully this afternoon that I got a birthday treat after all !!

First I went to the pet shop and got lots of treats off the nice staff (they are much nicer than my staff and have never-ending treatbags behind their desks- when I grow up I'm going to get me a job here)

Kibble-licious!

Then I got a special jellystick greenthing- but no matter how much I chew it, it doesn't melt in my mouth - grrr.

Then I had some updated headshots taken for my portfolio

Then I had a play with my toys

Then I had a sit down

Then I fell asleep... zzzzzz

Then we set off home

I didn't want to go so I just sat down and refused to move..

But when we finally got there guess what - a BIRTHDAY BONE WAS WAITING FOR ME !

Happy Bark-Day to Me!

The year I had 2 Xmas's !

You'll never guess what happened - last weekend I got bundled into stupid canvas crate and the staff drove and drove and drove and next thing I knew I was in the North East - land of my favourite ever beach and additional staff to pander to my every need. I had no idea they had it planned so it was quite a surpise when I got up next morning to - you've got it - ANOTHER Xmas.

First I got my fantastic party bag of Xmas treats!

Took me ages to get the wrappers off!

And then ..... I sat on my rocking chair chewed and chewed until the little critters squeaky entrails fell right on out. The hooman house looked much better with green fluff decorating the rooms

And then.....
I fell asleep - on my new rocky chair ....like an old timer after a tough day combine harvesting

Merry 2nd Xmas everyone!

Say Cheese

I don't know why the staff were so darn interested in me and my new toy today. Here I am trying to get a bit of peace and quiet with the Furrbly PinkSqueak thing I found on the kitchen floor ...but all I get is one of my staff flashing away with her camerabob all afternoon like there's no tomorrow. I'll never understand hoomans. Ah well, back to business...

How to hide things from the staff

Ah, now , this is a message just for my doggy buddies. NO HOOMANS ALLOWED!

That's better. Well, I was given a bone yesterday from the lovely butcher stripy apron man down the road. Thing is, I'd already been gorging myself on leftover lamb so there was no way I could fit it in my full little terrier belly. So what I did was worked out how to hide the little 'white wonder' from the staff in case they saw I hadn't eaten it and threw it away

Here's how I did it. It's not easy burying things indoors, but I think I found a way. Pay attention my young apprentices...that the bone in the top left hand area of my bed

Job done!

Dylan and the Mystery of the Black Pig

As you know, Dylan loves a black latex pig. He flings them around to his hearts content...or at least until he manages to chew out the squeaker. Working at my desk yesterday, I saw the little fluffy terrier head appear outside and start barking and whining- took me a while to realise that he'd spotted my black piggy bank sitting on the window ledge.

To Dylan this has become a source of great confusion - why has the black squeaky pig turned to stone? Only one way to find out.....

Investigations begin

Then ...... he pounces!

Further investigations....

"Just one more go - if I slobber all over it will it turn back to squishy latex?"

"Nope - oh forget it. I'm off to search for treats instead!"

"All in a days work...."

Dylan the Invalid

Dylan has been poorly the last 10 days - we don't know if he ate something or picked up a bug but the poor little fella has been blighted by sickness and the runs for over a week- hundreds of pounds later we still don't know what it was but are just glad the little pupster is back to his normal self and bouncing around again.

Maybe it was a bad pint?

And I never did find that missing pink ball?

But anyway, he's all better now and doing his 'best behaved pooch in the park' impression today - while the camera was out anyway!

Treat Toy

Another treat dispensing toy, another technique mastered....

Ball...door...rope...duhhhhh

Dylan got his 'ball on a rope' caught behind the living room door tonight with the rope end sticking out under the door. Here's what happened....
Listen carefully for the confused growl.

Hard Day at the Office

Long day for Dylan today. Yet another toy to disembowel- it's never-ending. Still he always attacks each job with great enthusiasm until exhaustion hits....

Rubber Chicken

Ruffian Rubber chicken toys have been recommended to me loads of times now and apparently they are a welsh terrier favourite. I finally managed to get one for Dylan .See the below for his review ... I think he likes it.

Birthday Cards

My birthday has come and gone now but I thought I'd post some of my cards from . I don't know why, but I seem to have got a lot of dog cards this year...

Dylan and the Abandoned Rugby Ball

I don't think Dylan is going to live up to his 'Arthur Chilcott' pedigree name. His reaction to seeing his first rugby ball was....well....mixed

Frankendog's last stand

Dylan's favourite toy since we got him has been a little felt dog which I got free from a pet shop. It was re-named 'Frankendog' after I sewed up his torn bits with black cotton one day. Alas, Frankendog suffered a violent assault last night and lies injured and broken. Perpetrator unknown... but just who is that shadowy figure watching on ?

Paddling Pool - Mark II

No paddling pools available on freecycle yet so Dylan got a Mark II version of a fake pool today- an underbed storage box this time - much more successful I think!

Pink Pig, Mad Dog

Dylan has a new toy. It's always a riot when we get him something new.... here's a taster of what he's like. Can't wait for Xmas!

Dylan Does Mensa

Dylan has a new toy -  'the Dog Brick'. It's from a range made by those clever Swedes and I can see already they are right up Dylan's street . You fill the little round holes with treats then slide over the black 'window' blocks then have your dog try find the treats.

The instructions say that dogs take time to 'get it' and you should start by putting really tasty treats in there with all the 'windows' open so the dog can work out what to do . Needless to say Dylan didn't need all that... straight in and opening the windows with his little cat paws first time.

Only trouble is, he can't seem to work out when he's already eaten the treat - left to his own devices he would probably carry on flicking open the windows for hours on end sniffing out a non existent treat . But that would just be mean!

I usually go for 2 refills then take it away - Dylan is devastated at this point and does his best 'puppy dog plea' - paws together and staring balefully at the shelf. I won't give in though. One day I shall be the boss of this young terrier scamp....

P.S. Sorry about the extended bottom shot - I'll never make it as a film director !

Spinning around

Another  sunny day and Dylan started the morning with a chillout in the deckchair- he really is starting to take this 'sit' business a little bit too far! Kev started training him to 'lie down' last night - annoyingly, it seemed to work well straight away - Dylan was a superstar a couple of times and did the whole sit to lie down thing...but when I tried it today , 'down' seems to have translated in Dylan's head to 'pounce on your owner's hand, toenails at the ready' ! Close though...

I decided to get Dylan his own cushion to sit on in the front room -  as you can see,  I didn't measure the one I ordered!  It's a tad on the large side but Dylan seems to like it. Think of it as an oversized sofa for the stylish urbanite dog.

The plush duck took a battering again today as Dylan 'did a Kylie' and started spinning around... Tasmanian Devil eat your heart out!
