The year I had 2 Xmas's !

You'll never guess what happened - last weekend I got bundled into stupid canvas crate and the staff drove and drove and drove and next thing I knew I was in the North East - land of my favourite ever beach and additional staff to pander to my every need. I had no idea they had it planned so it was quite a surpise when I got up next morning to - you've got it - ANOTHER Xmas.

First I got my fantastic party bag of Xmas treats!

Took me ages to get the wrappers off!

And then ..... I sat on my rocking chair chewed and chewed until the little critters squeaky entrails fell right on out. The hooman house looked much better with green fluff decorating the rooms

And then.....
I fell asleep - on my new rocky chair ....like an old timer after a tough day combine harvesting

Merry 2nd Xmas everyone!

Dylan's first Xmas

We travelled through snow and sleet to my mam's in the north-east for Christmas this year. Dylan was an absolute star for the journey - he was so quiet at one point we had to pull over and check he hadn't escaped at the last petrol stop... and I'm not joking!

There must have been some special Xmas announcement on the dog-wave frequency though because Dylan woke up at 5am in the morning and started howling like a 3 year old ! After trying to ignore him for ages, Kev and I eventually decided we'd have to get up before the neighbours started banging on the door shaking sleigh-bells at us.

We took Dylan out at 6am for a trudge in the snow in the dark. The streets were deserted...well apart from 1 other bloke walking his dogs and...you guessed it...already drinking a can of beer. Not sure if he was starting early or still going from the night before. Only in the north east!

A lovely Xmas was had by all with lovely food, family and presents. Thanks Mam. Dylan was the star of the show as ever...

The grand present opening

Note the stuffing scattered around - ripped out of the first present in seconds

Who's idea was it to get up so early?

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside...

A sunny sunny south east coast day today so off to the beach we went.
The tide was very low and Dylan hasn't seen so much sand since we visited my mam on the north east coast. He loved it!

"I know there's a reason I'm doing this, but I'm not really sure what it is"

"mmmmmm....seaweed"

"Just leave me here chilling out for the rest of the day-it's the Brighton way. Oh, and fetch me a 99 before you go"

Lord of the Manor

In case you haven't gathered by now, we have a daily battle of wills with Dylan as he desperately tries to prove that he is the boss and us lowly 'pack leaders' are there only to serve him food, brush his coat and take him on guided tours of the neighbourhood. I left him in the garden today for half an hour while we were getting ready and came downstairs to discover this. A new resting place for his honour, Lord Dylan of Hove. All dignity was lost though when he found he couldn't climb back down hence the baleful look in the last shot! Victory is ours...

Let sleeping dogs...

What is Dylan dreaming about? Something that involves waggling one leg in the air it seems....answers on a postcard please!

Barbecue

We had a barbecue in the garden last night. Dylan missed out at the time as he was fast asleep but has been steadfast at his post ever since
"Now where are those sausages....?"

Sunny Beach Days

A beautiful sunny day again so off we went to a quiet bit of the beach to let Dylan have a run around. The tide was right out and it was very beautiful. Dylan loved pottering around on the pebbles and wet sand - not so keen on the waves covering his little cat paws ! The jury is out on whether this little pup will be a 'sea dog' yet.

Dog Days

More frolics at the lilac park and Dylan 'playing dead' after a long long dog day...
