Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow-oh !

Wooohoooo- the fluffy white stuff is back ! Just like last year

"I wasn't too sure at first ...... go carefully my boy I said - it's all white out there! But then I dug right in!"

"Bit cold on the old schnozzle though! and then the stupid staff went and locked me out there! Their idea of a joke I assume..."

"I got my own back though ...kicked up so much ruckus that eventually they had to get my old lead on and I  could do my husky impression to drag them up the hill to the park"

"Come on then, throw me a snowball !"

" There's one. Now where's it gone?"

"I know it's here somewhere....."

"Oh darn it, there it is - stuck to my teddy bear legs!"

"That is it- I'm going home!"

"Don't just stand there - bring hot towels!"

Snow Capers

Plenty of snow still today for Dylan to snuffle but a gorgeous sunny day too. Went for a walk to the Copse first thing before the world woke up . Really beautiful and populated only by dogs and their staff ...err... I mean owners.

Where's the rest of my rugger team?

Dylan's first Xmas

We travelled through snow and sleet to my mam's in the north-east for Christmas this year. Dylan was an absolute star for the journey - he was so quiet at one point we had to pull over and check he hadn't escaped at the last petrol stop... and I'm not joking!

There must have been some special Xmas announcement on the dog-wave frequency though because Dylan woke up at 5am in the morning and started howling like a 3 year old ! After trying to ignore him for ages, Kev and I eventually decided we'd have to get up before the neighbours started banging on the door shaking sleigh-bells at us.

We took Dylan out at 6am for a trudge in the snow in the dark. The streets were deserted...well apart from 1 other bloke walking his dogs and...you guessed it...already drinking a can of beer. Not sure if he was starting early or still going from the night before. Only in the north east!

A lovely Xmas was had by all with lovely food, family and presents. Thanks Mam. Dylan was the star of the show as ever...

Who's idea was it to get up so early?

Newsflash: Welsh Terrier Walks on Water

Sometimes in life, we just accidentally come across something really quite special - today was one of those days. Taking Dylan for a walk along the cliff tops near my mam's in the North East we noticed what looked at first like a big patch of golden sand on the otherwise snowy beach. When we went down to the beach itself we found that it was a huge shallow ice lake which must have formed from water coming down the cliffs. Absolutely stunning. And Dylan got his first (and probably last) chance to ice-dance across this lovely frozen lake. As ever, the little pupster was up for exploring. Boy his paws must have been cold!

Can we go down the icy steps to the beach? Please please ....

Sun,sea,sand .... and snow!

We all went off to the beach this morning before our weekly walk to Richardson Road to visit our lovely local butcher, baker and candlestick-maker (can't have too many candlesticks). There hasn't been any more new snow but it's still FREEZING today with impacted snow making walking about treacherous ...unless you are like us and have monstrous looking croc wellies. Fashion isn't everything!

Anyway, look at Hove beach !

I've never seen it like this. Thick snow suddenly giving way to exposed bits of beach then the bright blue sea. Dylan loved it ! He was running between snow and sand and we've even captured him here with snow on his nose on a golden bit of beach. Surreal!
Dylan is now hunkered down with his bone from the butchers and I doubt we'll hear a peep out of him for the rest of the day. I wish!
