Terrier Olympics

The staff are a bit disappointed that they didn't get Olympics tickets so I thought I'd show them you don't need to go to London to see some jaw dropping sporting achievements...

Now I had the time of my life...

Loving Life !, originally uploaded by susank66.
Ah, here I am finally off lead after DAYS of walking on the lead. Just cos I keep running after dogs and trying to leave the park with their owners, shouldn't mean I have to pound pavements for days!

Shame my staff didn't get her camera out quicker. If she had you would have seen me scattering a big gang of those white rabbits with wings I keep seeing down the beach. Not sure about those big beaks but they soon fly off when I go running over. Can you hear my feet plopping through the water? They got all clogged up with sandy cement stuff & I had to go in the bath AGAIN when I got back. Not impressed.

Dylan's first Camping Trip

We had some time off this week so decided to take Dylan on his first 'try out' camping trip at WoWo and test run our new tent into the bargain. Both were a stunning success and we had a fantastic time (other than a puncture in the lilo !)

This is our lovely forest glade camping spot - in amongst the yurts and plenty of room for dog frolics, picnics, river paddling and campfire cooking

Surrounded by lovely open fields

Dylan's Very Own Tent

Late in the afternoon we heard the unmistakeable sound of a hot air balloon coming down in the field right next to us- amazing!

Campfire cooking- we don't do things by halves ...flame grilled steak, new potatoes, mushrooms and tomatoes. And a little steak dinner for the little fella got the seal of approval too!

Indoors or Outdoors , Dylan is VERY possessive of his squeaky tennis ball!

River Adventures

Sorry for neglecting the dog blog! It's been a really busy few weeks with my being away in Devon then the fact that my camera is being very 'temperamental' - Dylan is feeling unhappy that he has slipped out of the limelight. He always hoped to be famous for more than 15 minutes.

Here he is out on one of our Adur Adventures on a beautiful sunny day a couple of weeks ago.

Come on in, the water's lovely !

Does this count as 'bait digging?'

Messing About by the River

Our new favourite dog walking terrain runs right alongside the River Adur - 2 walks here this week. So beautiful and peaceful. Dylan on near perfect recall and pottering along like the happy pupster he is.

Saturday was a different story ...... multiply the amount of dogs walking on the same path by 10 and we suddenly had a crazy tearaway (and he DID tear away!) dog on our hands. Ah well, maybe stick to weekdays for this particular walk...

Here's super Dylan doing his stuff...

Now where's that mole gone?

Dylan at Devil's Dyke

Another scorching day. Little Dylan was in the doldrums this morning as I think the heat was too much for him so I popped him in the car this afternoon to see if I could finally get this little sea-dog to swim. Only this time, I decided to avoid the waves (which give Dylan the heebie jeebies!) and go to a little pond on Devil's Dyke where I've seen dogs splashing around . Dylan perked up immediately we got out of the car and realised he had new territory to explore. After some scampering around in the shady forest tracks we got to the slime filled pond. Dylan wasn't sure immediately whether he wanted to go in so took to barking at the pond for a while and running around the outside. Eventually he found a bit of bank in the most slime filled area and dropped right into the water (if you can call it that). He loved it!

Later, after a good run around in the dip of the Dyke, we came back home where I fashioned a 'poor dogs version' of a paddling pool to wash off the slime and help him cool off. An old cardboard box and ikea bag will do nicely I thought. Filled it up and he was straight in! You can see the results below. I don't think he approves of ikea....off to Freecycle to see if anyone has an old paddling pool to get us through the summer!
